Help with en route
On a trip and something's wrong? Use the SOS button in the app, or call the local emergency number shown on the Info screen. This page can't reach your host.
For guests
How do I get into my trip?
Tap the link your host sent you. It's your own link, so there's no password. It opens in your phone's web browser. Lost it? Ask your host to send it again.
Is there an app to download?
Yes, on both. iPhone: search "en route" in the App Store. Android: search "en route" in Google Play. If you'd rather not download anything, open the link your host sent you in your web browser. Everything works there except notifications; if you said yes to texts, you'll get your host's announcements, reminders and messages by text instead.
Why are the times different from my phone's clock?
Every time in en route is in the trip's own time zone, and the screen says which one. That way the plan stays right even if your phone hasn't switched over yet.
Does it work with no signal?
Yes, for what you've already opened. The trip is saved on your phone. With no signal you'll see a note saying you're looking at your saved copy. Messages and photos need a connection.
How does the SOS button work?
Tap SOS at the top of the screen, check the sheet, then press and hold for two seconds. Your host gets an alert straight away, even in quiet hours, and if they've turned on SOS calls, en route phones them too. If it's life-threatening, call the local emergency number first: it's on the same sheet. Sent it by mistake? Tap "Cancel — I'm OK".
What does the share link show?
The trip name, the town, the dates and the schedule. It hides the address, room numbers, Wi-Fi and other guests' names. It's read-only.
Can I message another guest privately?
No. There's one group thread for everyone and a private line to your host.
How do I report a message or photo?
Tap the ⋯ next to it, or press and hold it, then choose Report. The trip's hosts and the en route team get your report, and we look at every one within 24 hours. From the same menu you can hide a guest so you no longer see what they post.
How do I delete my account?
Guests: open your trip, go to Info and tap "Leave this trip and delete my info". Hosts: in the app, go to Settings, then "Delete my account". Either way it happens straight away. You can also do it from any browser on the delete-account page, or email support@getenroute.app if you can't get in.
Will I get text messages?
Only if you said yes on the pre-trip form, and only while the trip is on. If you use en route in your web browser rather than the app, texts are how you hear about announcements, reminders and messages from your host, plus a short note when the group chat is busy (never the chat itself). You can change your answer by tapping "Check or change my details" on the Info screen.
For hosts
Do I need a computer?
For setting up, yes: you set up in the hosting team workspace (app.getenroute.app) in a web browser, where bringing in the itinerary and filling in the trip is much easier on a big screen. Once the trip is set, the trip app on your phone is for running it.
What files can I bring my itinerary in from?
PDF · Word · Excel · a Google Doc or Sheet · a web page · or pasted text. There's also a template in Excel or CSV.
Can I try it before I pay?
Yes. Start with a practice trip, then set up your real trip as a draft with up to three test guests. You pay when you turn it on. See pricing.
Who does an SOS reach?
Every host gets an alert in the trip app, even during quiet hours. SOS phone calls are optional: tick your own number on the trip's SOS list and en route rings you, then you again a minute later, then the next host, until someone presses 1. Leave it unticked and nobody is phoned. Save +1 321-321-5456 as a contact so your phone doesn't silence the call. SOS texts are coming soon. SOS is for urgent things like a guest locked out, a burst pipe or someone lost on a hike; for anything life-threatening, guests call the local emergency number first.
Can I have co-hosts?
Yes. Co-hosts help run a live trip with you, and you can add the rest of your team with photos and titles for guests to see.
Can I see live flight status?
Yes. You see each guest's arrival and departure flights from their form, with live status on travel days, and an alert when a flight is delayed, cancelled or diverted.
